Crossing the country for the Tollyclub Rendezvous: Andy & Kim Stratton
All In, No Regrets
When we bought our 1988 Tollycraft 44, we were all in. This wasn’t just a boat purchase. It was a commitment to a lifestyle. But living in New Jersey, where we see maybe one other Tolly a season, we wanted more.
We had to experience the heart of the Tolly community for ourselves. So we packed our bags, boarded a seaplane, and headed to Roche Harbor for our first Tollyclub Rendezvous.
A Floating Tollycraft Showcase
Arriving at Roche Harbor felt like walking into a private Tollycraft boat show. More than 85 meticulously restored boats, each one telling its own story.
We got personal tours with Scott Fultz, who shared insights that changed the way we see and care for our own boat. The wealth of knowledge at the Rendezvous is unmatched, from vendors, owners, and experts who all live and breathe Tollycraft.
The Full Experience
From the dockside breakfasts to the dinghy parade, the dinners, and the docktails, every moment was packed with conversation, learning, and laughter.
Staying at the Roche Harbor Inn made it easy to soak in the scenery and spend every waking moment embracing the event.
More than anything, though, it was about the friendships. We connected with fellow owners who, like us, were all in.
Why You Should Go
If you own a Tollycraft outside the West Coast, this event is a must. For us, it was like stepping into a Tollycraft masterclass. We learned restoration tips, boat care tricks, and maintenance secrets that made our 44 look and run like new.
The passion for these boats is contagious, and sharing that enthusiasm with others is what makes the Rendezvous so special.
Advice for First-Timers
Say yes to everything. Meet as many people as you can, step aboard as many Tollys as possible, and take in every minute. This isn’t just an event. It is an experience, and one that will leave you with knowledge, friendships, and memories that last well beyond the weekend.
Looking Forward to Next Time
Attending the Tollyclub Rendezvous was one of the best decisions we made as Tolly owners. The boats, the people, the location. It was everything we hoped for and more. Without question, we will be back.
