For Sale: 1973 40’ TriCabin “Island Time”
This classic beauty has been berthed at the same marina in Davenport, Iowa, since it was first delivered from the factory in 1974. She rests under a covered slip in the summer and in a barn in the winter. She has traveled the upper regionally although most of the time she has basically served as a condo on the water. We are the fifth owners. Turns out she is aging better than us, and it is time, regretfully, to sell.
She has two Chrysler 330 hp gas engines with fewer than 800 metered hours. The Onan generator with 1225 hours would run a small house. She carries 440 gallons of fuel and 150 gallons of fresh water. Twin beds in the aft cabin, v-berth, two heads, one with a shower, 15 gallon water heater, heaters and air conditioners in each cabin, and a full galley make living on her or longer trips quite comfortable. Manufacturer’s hull number is TLY400160473. Engine serial numbers are 185700 and 185703.
The only salt that has touched this vessel fell off a margarita glass; she has been a fresh water boat her whole life. Even her sea trials were on the Mississippi. The interior décor could use updating, or you might consider it timely shabby chic. Everything works, but the galley oven and range hood need replacing. We have this year made do with twin portable induction burners and an air fryer, both of which stay with the boat. Her electronics are appropriate for river navigation; blue water use would likely require some additional equipment.
She has received excellent mechanical work over the years by the same two mechanics, but there are no boat yards in the region that can really do her justice. We would like to return her home to the Pacific Northwest where Tollycrafts are known and appreciated (she is the only Tollycraft in Iowa). Her price of $25,000 reflects expected shipping costs payable by the buyer; shipping has been estimated by multiple specialty truck lines in the neighborhood of $10,000 from eastern Iowa to Anacortes.
All equipment and accoutrements stay with the boat. We are keeping back only food, a few pieces of deck furniture, and clothes.
She’s a beauty. Make her yours.
